Dragonistics data card

Data cards display multivariate data and help students connect the data directly with data displays. Dragonistics data cards are a versatile teaching tool that can be used in primary (elementary) schools, middle schools and high schools.

game

Statistics Learning Centre has developed an engaging educational family game: The Dragon Games. Compete in four events to become Dragon Wrangler Champion. The Dragon Games is for 2-5 players aged 7 and up.

Over the years Dr Nic and StatsLC hasve developed over 60 teaching videos related to statistics. Statistics Learning Centre videos have been watched over two million times and have over 25,000 subscribers.

All of the videos are avilable through paid subscription to our online resource portals. Some of the videos are also available on our YouTube channel.

NZ Stats
1, 2 & 3

NZ Stats 3 covers NCEA Level 3 Statistics. It provides on-line materials to assist students studying the Level 3 (Year 13) statistics standards. Study and learning materials are provided for all of the level 3 statistics standards, including extra Scholarship materials.

NZ Stats 2 supports NCEA Level 2 Statistics. It provides on-line materials to assist students studying the Level 2 (Year 12) statistics standards. Study and learning materials are provided for all of the level 2 statistics standards, as well as the networks standard.

NZ Stats 1 supports NCEA Level 1 Statistics. It provides on-line materials to assist students studying the Level 1 (Year 11) statistics standards. Study and learning materials are provided for all of the level 1 statistics standards.

All three courses provide videos, notes, step-by-step learning activities and learning quizzes specifically designed for the New Zealand curriculum. The materials are designed to support learning and are based on current pedagogical theory and years of teaching experience.

Teachers can sign up to use all of the materials for whole class teaching or they can sign up their students and gain free access themselves. Student sign up allows the students to use the activities on their own. See here for details on enrolling classes.

Schools receive a discount when signing up three or more teachers. Teachers can sign up themselves and/or students for a two-month free trial during terms 1 to 3.

While this material has been designed specifically for the New Zealand curriculum, statistics teachers and students from other countries may find these courses helpful.
